While most honey is at risk of contamination—since bees can forage up to five miles and bring back glyphosate from nearby crops—our hives are located deep in the wild Yucatán, far from commercial agriculture. First, our sourcing partner tests for pesticides and herbicides to meet organic standards. Then, after slow, low-temperature jarring to preserve nutrients, we conduct full third-party testing per lot, screening for glyphosate, heavy metals, aflatoxins, and over 450 other contaminants. Raw honey is honey in its most natural form. It is never heated above 115 degrees and is not pasteurized, preserving all the natural antioxidants, enzymes, vitamins, and minerals that can be degraded by heat. Additionally, raw honey actually contains bits of pollen, which may help fight allergies.
Yes - we test rigorously for Glyphosate, pesticides, herbicides, and other contaminants to ensure purity. There are undetectable levels of Glyphosate and any other pesticide in our honey. Our hives are located deep in the wilderness, far from any commercial farms or spraying. This isolation helps keep our honey clean and natural, and we regularly test to confirm its purity.
Due to minimal processing this honey may contain small amounts of hive debris and comb. Hive debris may appear as small dark dots. Comb (wax) may appear as a white foam like layer on top of the container. This strained, raw honey contains a larger percentage of the natural pollens as compared to filtered and processed honey.
Our honey lasts 18 months and can be stored at room temperature. If you choose to store them in the refrigerator, they may crystallize. This is perfectly normal and can be easily reversed by gently warming the product to dissolve the crystals and return it to its liquid state. Over time, it will gradually thicken. This is completely normal as well.
